First Day of Chemo Treatment

Today is Chemo treatment day #1

Arrived at Roswell 8:45am to a very busy,  very crowded Chemo/blood draw department.  I was most apprehensive about accessing my port for the blood draw thinking it was going to be painful due to it has only been a week (7 days) since port installation.  To my surprise,  it was a breeze.

Blood work is part of my treatment so once the blood draw is completed I had to wait for results and for my treatment chair to be ready.  I took advantage of this time to have a little coffee and Danish.

When my treatment chair was ready they called my phone and gave me instructions as to what floor to report.   Prior to the chemo...I received 2 different types of anti-nausea meds...one that lasts 7 days and 1 that lasts 3 days. I had to add an additional med for the nausea (felt like motion sickness).

Chemo down at Roswell now for part 2 home chemo treatment for the next 48 hours.

VNA is the home nurse responsible for home hook up and unhook.  All the supplies was delivered to me on Saturday.  Monday morning the VNA nurse called introduced herself and said will be the nurse for today and the plan.  She then called me a second time in the afternoon to coordinate coordinated our arrival at the house at same time after the Roswell treatment.  I was a little late getting home due to the motion sickness nausea I been experiencing.  Jazmine made sure to drive slowly and TRY and avoid bumps in the road.  (If you have driven in Buffalo then you know)

We still arrived at approximately the same time.  As I was steadying myself by taking my prescribed meds, she went over paperwork and all the particulars of everything in that big brown scary box.

When it came time to discuss the fanny pack and how to "hook" me up...I didn't even realize that she had actually connected me and started the pump.  This is my friend for next 48 hours.

I Thank God that I have NOT had any bad experiences today...My Faith knowing God got me and has me covered made this a breeze, but that FEAR and ANXIETY will have you thinking and feeling all types of foolishness.

I know that Fear and Anxiety is no match for my God!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾

Propping up my feet and relaxing!

Good Night.
